 Introduction of Slovakia culture
Geographically but also historically, the Slovak Republic (Slovakia) is a typical Central European country which accessed to the European Union in 2004. Slovakia has been an independent country since 1 January 1993 when it came into existence following the split of the former “Czechoslovakia”. The country is represented by rich cultural heritage of Slovakia, its natural beauty and tourist attractions. Slovakia’s rich and diverse architectural heritage ranges from Roman forts to Gothic churches, medieval castles, rustic farmhouses and water mills. The traditional folk culture represents various customs and ceremonies, traditional folk songs, music, dance, crafts, etc.
The capitol of Slovakia, Bratislava is called for many years as “the Beauty on the river Danube”. City is well known not only for its history and cultural events but also because of the oldest university in the country – Comenius University. Since its founding in 1919 the number of students of the 13 faculties is yearly increasing. In 1990 was officially open new part of the university the University of the Third Age with special offer for the elderly students. Actually there are more than 2,000 seniors studying in 40 specialised subjects.


斯洛伐克无论从地理上还是历史上都是欧洲国家的中心,并于2004年加入欧盟。斯洛伐克自1993年1月从“捷克斯洛伐克”分裂后一直是一个独立的国家。斯洛伐克有着丰富的文化遗产、自然美景和旅游景点。从罗马要塞到哥特式教堂、中世纪城堡、乡村农舍和水车。拥有丰富繁多的传统民间文化和庆典、传统民歌、音乐、舞蹈和雕塑等。
斯洛伐克的首都布拉迪斯拉发被誉为“多瑙河畔的明珠”这个城市不仅仅以它的历史和文化庆典著称,还因为斯洛伐克历史最悠久的大学坐落于此。自1919年成立以来,13个学院的学生人数逐年增加。1990年,为老年人提供教育的老年大学在这里成立。2000多名老年学员在这里学习40门专业课。
